Casa Osor

A house in the mountains of Catalonia

Our house in the old village of Osor, in the wooded hills of La Selva. It is already a lovely place to spend time — and it is still slowly becoming what we want it to be.

Casa Osor: a three-storey stone house on a small square in Osor, with the church bell tower rising behind it.

What Casa Osor is

An old village house that we have only recently taken on, and are gradually bringing back to life.

Casa Osor sits in the historic centre of Osor, a small mountain village surrounded by forest, rivers and hills. It is a village house rather than an isolated finca — you step out of the front door into the village itself.

In time it will be two things at once: our base in Spain, and a characterful place for other people to stay. For now it is somewhere we are happy to share with friends, family and invited guests, exactly as it is.

Where it is

Osor

Casa Osor is in the historic village of Osor in La Selva, Girona, surrounded by the wooded mountains of the Guilleries. It offers a quieter side of Catalonia while remaining within reach of Girona and the Costa Brava.

It is a place for walking, swimming in river pools, long lunches and doing very little. We will add proper suggestions — walks, restaurants, markets, days out — as we get to know the area better ourselves.

Driving times, transport links and directions: being confirmed.

Honestly

The house today

Casa Osor is already a wonderful place to spend time, but it is still evolving. We are gradually clearing, repairing, furnishing and improving the house while learning how we want each space to work.

Some rooms are ready for guests. Some of the furniture is temporary and will be replaced. Some parts of the house are still being sorted out and may occasionally be unavailable. None of that stops it being a good place to stay — it just means you should know what you are coming to.

Before we agree any stay, we will tell you exactly which rooms and facilities will be available on your dates.

The entrance hall, with a patterned tiled floor and glazed double doors standing open to the garden. Looking down the stairwell: terracotta treads, painted tile risers and a turned wooden handrail.
Photographs taken shortly before we took the house on. Much of the furniture in them is not staying.

Staying at Casa Osor

How it works, for now

This is a friends-and-family stage rather than a commercial rental. There is no instant booking and no fixed price list yet. You tell us when you would like to come and who is coming, and we work out between us whether it suits.

Pricing is simple, and it follows the number of people rather than the whole house: €25 per person per night, falling to €20 per person per night once there are four or more of you. A couple should not pay for space they are not using.

Group sizePer person, per night
1–3 people€25
4 or more€20

So two of you is €50 a night; six of you is €120 a night. Children, longer stays and maximum capacity: still being worked out — ask us.

The dining room: a long wooden table under a beamed ceiling, with balcony doors open onto the trees outside.
